Short bio
Nena is a phd Researcher with the Institute for International Research on Criminal Policy (IRCP) at the Faculty of Law and Criminology at Ghent University since November 2022. She obtained her Master’s degree summa cum laude in Criminological Sciences (Ghent University, 2022). The focus of her master’s thesis focused on self-help for non-offending pedophiles through online peer-support groups. This thesis was crowned the best thesis in Criminology of that year. At the moment, she is conducting her doctoral research under supervision of prof. dr. Gert Vermeulen, which focusses on surveillance and online child sexual abuse.
