Short bio
Laura Byn is a Doctoral Researcher funded by the FWO, connected to the Institute for International Research on Criminal Policy (IRCP) at the Faculty of Law and Criminology at Ghent University. She graduated as a Master of Laws (2019) and a Master of Criminological Sciences summa cum laude (2021). During both educations she specialised in sexual violence and consent. She is currently researching sexual harassment and its normalisation on dating applications, using sexual script theory. On the side she volunteers as legal counsel for PUNT vzw, an information centre for victims of sexual violence.
