Short bio

Stephanie holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s degree in Theoretical and Experimental Psychology. Currently, Stephanie Van De Walle is an academic assistant and PhD researcher at the Department of Criminology, Criminal Law and Social Law at Ghent University. She provides assistance for the following courses: “Project Contemporary Criminology”, “Youth Criminology”, “Research Design in Criminology”, “Spatiotemporal Criminology”, and “Statistics in Criminology”.

For her PhD research, under supervision of Prof. Dr. Christophe Vandeviver, she focuses on the bidirectional relationship between the spatiotemporal patterns of police patrols and crime, with an emphasis on the decision-making processes of police officers, and the effectiveness of the strategies they employ.
