Short bio

Jorne holds a Master’s degree in Criminological Sciences (Ghent University, 2015) and a Master’s degree in Conflict and Development (Ghent University, 2016). Since June 2026, he has been supporting professor Colman in the CAPABLE project. Together with the European Forum for Urban Security (EFUS), the European Harm Reduction Network – Correlation (E-EHRN) and the Global Initiative against Transnational Organised Crime (GI-TOC), this project aims to strengthen the capacities of practitioners to address the complexities of drug-related issues.

Jorne has experience in the fields of crime prevention and substance use prevention, as well as in developing training programmes. He previously worked at the European Crime Prevention Network (EUCPN), the Flemish Centre of Expertise on Alcohol and other Drugs (VAD) and at Ghent University.
