Short bio

Seda Akdemir‑Ekizoğlu is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Criminology, Criminal Law and Social Law at Ghent University, where she is currently working on the VictimPro project. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Guidance and Psychological Counseling from Boğaziçi University and completed both her master’s degree and PhD in Forensic Social Sciences at Istanbul University.

Prior to joining Ghent University, she worked for 15 years as a school psychologist. Her research focuses on child sexual abuse, animal abuse, and sexual violence. Her current work examines victim blame and societal responses toward sexual minority victims of sexual violence.
