Short bio
Yasmin Van Damme was a researcher and teaching assistant at the Department of Penal Law and Criminology between 2009 and 2014. Her research topics mostly involved trafficking in human beings for sexual and labour exploitation under the supervision of prof. dr. Gert Vermeulen.
Between 2014 and 2018 she worked as a policy advisor for Child Focus on the topic of online and offline sexual exploitation of children. Considering her field experience, she returned to the University in 2018 as a teaching assistant for the course sexual offending, prostitution and human trafficking.
Since 2018 Yasmin Van Damme is managing a regional department of Youth at Risk, an organization assisting minors in need.
