
Short bio
Pieter (°1995) was born and raised in Ghent. He graduated with a master’s degree in law from Ghent University in 2018. He also lived and studied in Hamburg, Germany, as an exchange student (via the Erasmus+ project) during his studies.
After graduating, Pieter moved to Brussels and worked as a compliance counsel at a health insurer, before working as a legal counsel for the litigation chamber of the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
As of January 2021, Pieter will be a PhD student researching the legal aspects of the transparency principle in the processing of personal data concerning health for biomedical research (with specific attention to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation and accessory national legislation).
